As an artist, Terry has a special attachment to the natural beauty of this area of Montana, having been born in Big Timber, Montana and raised on a ranch in the foothills of the Crazy Mountains. Her career was in teaching and working as a school guidance counselor, but her hobby has always been painting. She is a self-taught artist whose years of painting were interrupted by her important responsibilities as a wife, mother of three sons, and work.
She and her husband were married for 50 years when he passed away in 2016. They had many adventures as a family, including working as volunteers for Youth With A Mission for five and a half years. Those years took them for work in three islands of Hawaii, to Hong Kong working under the United Nations in a refugee camp, and finally serving on the Mercy Ship in the Pacific Islands.
Terry now lives quietly near Big Timber. Her sons are married, and she has seven grandchildren, the delight of her life. Since retirement, she has had time to paint more and is always challenged by the desire to capture the intricate beauty of the mountains.
